WWF was founded and championed by a group of South Sudanese Writers and Artists in different fields of Art. They desire to bring together an experienced team of writers that will nurture, coach, train and mentor, publish, and promote aspiring writers from South Sudan and give South Sudanese writers the platform to be heard and listened to as they share their experiences, and transfer writing life skills to aspiring writers for intergenerational exchange of writing skills. WWF is part of the Board Leadership of South Sudan Youth Organizations Coalition.

Alith Cyer Mayar, founder of WWF, poet, writer, social entrepreneur, and author of The Cry of the South Sudanese Children and the Battle Within Me. “A friend told me, ‘I wish to see South Sudanese writers have success stories among writers in the region and the world.’ The power of our stories is something unique that only we can do best. I think it’s about how our stories will bring back peace and heal the hurt.”

WWF is championed by a team that works collaboratively:

Poet, Ngong Ngong (Truth Crisis) – Deputy Chair

Assunta Achol – General Secretary
